Monthly cost

Hormone therapy cost in Las Vegas, broken down by form

Monthly cost runs from under $10 to over $500, and almost all of that gap is generic against brand name rather than one treatment being better than another. The form matters too. Confirmed with your plan before anything is ordered in Las Vegas.

By form

Las Vegas pricing: what each route costs

The gap between the cheapest and most expensive route in Las Vegas is wide enough that the form itself sets your monthly cost. Generic estradiol tablets are the cheapest route, often under $10 for a ninety-day supply. Brand-name combined tablets sit at the other extreme and can pass $500 a month.

Patches run under $40 a month with coverage and over $250 without. Gels are similar, with generics under $50 for a thirty-day supply and some branded versions above two hundred.

Vaginal preparations are separate. Creams sit between $25 and $100 a month, generic tablets around $40 a pack, and rings under thirty with coverage or around five hundred without. There is more in what it costs, insurance and coverage and patches vs pills vs creams for the rest of it. Coverage decides the ring price more than any other item on this list, which is worth knowing before you fill that prescription in Las Vegas.

Reducing it

How your Las Vegas assessment works

  1. Ask for the generic by name

The single biggest lever. The same molecule at a fraction of the price, and usually a lower copay tier as well.

  2. Check the cash price

Pharmacy cash prices are sometimes lower than a copay, particularly for older generics. It costs nothing to ask.

  3. Use a discount card

Widely accepted and often meaningful on uncovered items. Worth checking before you pay a full retail price.

  4. Reconsider the form

A covered generic patch may cost less than an uncovered brand tablet, and may suit your risk profile better anyway.

The outlier

Why pellets sit apart

Of the forms priced here, pellets are the only one a Las Vegas patient funds entirely herself, since no insurer will contribute. Compounded pellets are not FDA-approved, so no insurer covers them. Between the pellets themselves and insertion several times a year, the annual cost is around $1,500.

That buys the same hormones available as a covered patch for under $40 a month, delivered in a form that cannot be stopped if the dose turns out to be wrong. The detail sits in is hrt covered, what is included and bioidentical hormones for the rest of it. Before paying for pellets, a Las Vegas patient should ask what the plan is if the dose lands too high, because a patch can simply be removed.

Common questions

Las Vegas hormone therapy cost questions, answered

Price by form, what drives the range and how to bring it down.

Between roughly $10 and five hundred. Generic tablets sit at the bottom, generic patches around $40 insured, vaginal creams between twenty-five and a hundred, and brand-name products at the top. The generic-versus-brand gap explains most of the spread.
Four things: generic or brand, which delivery form, your dose, and what your plan covers. A generic tablet and a brand-name combined product can deliver comparable treatment with a fiftyfold difference in price.
Generally yes, before insurance. With coverage the difference often narrows considerably, and patches are frequently the better clinical choice because they avoid the liver and the associated clot risk. Price alone is rarely the deciding factor.
Usually a generic estradiol tablet with generic micronized progesterone, which can total under $30 a month. Whether it is right for you depends on your clot and cardiovascular history, which may point to a patch instead.
It can. Doses are sometimes adjusted at the three-month review, formularies change annually, and generics enter the market. It is worth rechecking your plan's list each year rather than assuming last year's prices hold.

Patient reviews

Las Vegas patients on their hormone therapy

★★★★★

I had been waking three or four times a night for two years and had been told it was just stress. The consultation actually went through my cycle history. Six weeks on a patch and I am sleeping through.

What I wanted was someone who would talk about the risks honestly rather than sell me something. They walked through the clot data and why a patch suited me better than tablets.

The brain fog was the part nobody warned me about. Having a clinician tell me it was a recognized symptom and not early dementia was worth the appointment on its own.

It took two dose changes before things settled, which they had told me upfront might happen. The three-month review was booked before I left the first appointment.
